This is less of a blog entry and more of a thank-you note. Last night we were treated to a wonderful dinner by eleven of our friends. It reminded me that in the rush to start a new adventure, we must remember the foundation that our past provides.

It was a great evening. One of those stellar nights where there is no gap in the conversation and time seems to evaporate.

Thanks to Marsh for organizing it. and Thanks Gary for inviting Chris and Claire. Thanks to Tennile & Peter, Michelle & Darren, Wendy & John, Michelle & Gary, Claire & Chris and Marshall for making it a fabulous night.

If I was on the ball, I would have had a camera with me and then posted a nice goup shot here. But I'm not and I didn't and there isn't. The lesson to be learned is to remember the value of friends. And to take their picture.

Say that a pile of steel, wood, glass and concrete appears in a lot near you. The question that comes to mind is "What are they going to build here"? Until the building finished, or at least well underway, it is not clear what it is going to be or at least how the finished product is going to fit into the neighbourhood. One thing is certain, whatever is to appear will only do so with a lot of hard work.

So today, I have picked up the hammer, or more appropriately, the shovel. I quit my job. Joanne has already made the leap and quit her job. Having already sold the house, we are now set to be unemployed homeless people.

We are moving to London England for a life adventure. What lies ahead? Who knows. But watch this space to see it unfold.

The finished product may be the Louvre Pyramid, or more akin to a concrete fascist housing block. In either case, we will own it. The adventure begins.
